Have you heard about it? I love this band so much! Land of Talk just released a new album recently and I wanted to bring your attention to this wonderful band if they already don’t have it. Formed in 2006 in our nations hat (Canada,) Land of talk, belongs to the Broken Social Scene family (along with Feist, Stars etc…)This new release is gorgeous. Its a bit more eased back than the previous release, Some Are Lakes but it still rocks. I am not here to write a long review, just check it out. If you want a good review, check this one out by Muzzle Of Bees

check out a track from the new record: Land of Talk – Cloak and Cipher

and lastly, if you are in the Twin Cites, make sure not to miss them at the 7th St. Entry, September 22

Prefuse.73 The Cedar OCT.2!!!

october 2. cedar cultural center. you would be remiss to not make it to this event.

http://www.thecedar.org/tortoise_2

“It’s hard to think of a name that carries as much weight in both hip-hop and avant-rock circles as Prefuse 73, who in the past year alone has been asked to remix TV On The Radio, Pelican, BLK JKS and Cornelius, not to mention his early collaborations with School of Seven Bells and Battles. These interactions have clearly helped to shape the evolving Prefuse 73 sonic aesthetic, which has expanded to include Herren’s twisted visions of prog-rock, “machine funk” and global psychedelia.”

see you there.

La Nouvelle Femme

“The artist collective known as La Nouvelle Femme is preparing for its second annual event September 18 at the Varsity Theater. If last year’s event is any indication this year’s “Wanderlust” is sure to be a great success and will undoubtedly sell out. The evening will showcase artwork by Torey Bonar and Hilary Berg, live music by Hildur Victoria and Bella Koshka and a fashion show with clothing by Calpurnia Peach and Frances Zerr.”
